In the land peace...

Good morning world ~_~ this is our last Sunday for 2012.  I woke up this morning full of question marks, makeup products and what will work best for me.  Well I had to remember what I learned from the tutorials and getting my inspiration from others.  Tatiana, my SheerO from the makeup world and in YouTube universe and I've got some favorites too, But I like Tatiana because of her insight and informative side. In her video how she became a markup artist, she kept it real.  There was no cutting corners.  Below is some quotes from her YouTube video:
Paying your dues!!!!  "Fake it till you  make it"  ~~~ You can follow her on YouTube:
BEATFACEHONEY  ~~>      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHqLEGWqz2w  or www.beatfacehoney.com ~

Oh yeah, I can use drug store brands without a problem and of course [in the back of my head] I want some {SOME} M.A.C products as well.  Oh yeah [in my Kool-Aid voice] LOL.  Through careful thought, consideration and the depths of my wallet/purse; I've decided on building my supply with a little from BH Cosmetics at www.bhcosmetics.com; Coastal Scents at www.coastalscents.com and of course from M.A.C themselves at www.maccosmetics.com or from the store on 23rd Street or Macy's on 34 Street.  Again, Oh Yeah!

Why? Why? WHY?  My makeup palette from Avon is full of shimmery shimmers :( and that's not cool for a beginner.  I want a polished, put together look and shimmering at an interview will give the wrong impression.  Plus like the saying goes ~ There is a time and place for everything ~_~ !  Another plus is the word around town is that we will have to be dressing more professional in the office especially since our site will be moving to Brooklyn very soon.  WOW.  Me, professional ~ I'm appalled :/  Nope not appalled, I'm kind of excited.  It is about time for myself since I only have 2 more classes left and then it's onto Graduation!  With a bachelors degree in hand, shoot I'm ready to take on the world.  But on the serious side, I am looking to level up in my title.  My interview for a level 2 supervisor was postponed due to Hurricane Sandy... Boo Hoo Hoo....  This is a clear sign to step up my A-Game.  I'm 40... I need to grow up in appearance and some of my mannerisms.
I must bid you all good bye until later or tomorrow.  I need to finish my hat and work on my cape.  Ttyl

Makeup Tutorial Test Self Inflicted.

LOL,,, I started out my day looking like me except for some definition to my eyebrows & BB cream,,, Okay a little blush and contouring powder.  [I'm still learning on how to contour my round face]  Okay so knitting class was great today as always until I became inpatient with someone & i told her, you're gonna have to give in and learn to read a pattern.  Because In my brain, if you have an idea in your mind and you know the basic stitches then you don't need us.  Stop talking shit! [yeah I cursed]  because I've met some ladies who came to our group, didn't know how to read a pattern and produce beautiful projects.  WHY?? because the proof is in the pudding.  This one, I have no clue.....  I told her then do the project [her idea stuck in her head] and stop talking about it.  Point is, I have no patience for hard heads.  LOL!!!  My project I'm working on is a two-tone colored hat.  And yes, it's on 4 double points.  La, La, la, la, laaaa.
Now on to my boredom when I reached home.  Then I remember watching on YouTube, Nitraa B's video and she clearly stated that she practiced every chance she got.  Well, I took it to heart and went ahead and did my own thing.  What better way to put all that I've learned from so many tutorials than to practice at home.  Oh yeah, I did, I did, I did Yae.  Again, I still learning and need to learn more about contouring my chubby cheeks..  View the pics below..  I'm so proud of myself!  plus so much positive feedback on FB.

The last Friday for 2012

Hello everyone.  Today in FB [Facebook for those who really didn't know], some of my people posted that today is the last Friday for 2012.  It is But... I chose not to acknowledge them.  LOL
That's life, on the other hand I am looking forward to the new year and all that it offers the adventurous soul.  Who is with me?  I mean we have knitters, crocheters, crafters and such.  I am looking to explore, venture out and network.  That is beyond important since you never know who you will run into.  Like knocking on all doors because you do know that one of them will open.  I'm just saying, why limit opportunity?

Psst, not to be conceited, but I kept looking at my pictures that I took on Monday.  I really like the way I look.  I like the way I look with a basic appearance but taking the time to care for myself makes a difference.  See I want a more polished look.  So yes, improvements are happening... But wait, my living environment has to change because I can't live in a stressed home with my daughter.  She will be 20 in 2013, again time for change. I want peace.

If I hit the number, and I mean for big winnings....  I'm letting Uncle Sam take his share and I will cut my child a check into a Trust Account to care for her.  This account will deposit a monthly stipend for however many years until it runs out.  I want nothing from my child.  I want her to be a responsible productive citizen.  With that said, I'm off to sleep.

A new year

So today, I stepped into Walgreens and they had a cart with items 50% off.  WHAT???  No Freakin Way!  Yes, you heard me.  This isn't the first time that any store has a 50% rack; but what got me thinking is preparing for upcoming parties and events.  Like, I have 9 months to prepare for a birthday party.  Everyone is being charged for a ticket because of the venue and what you'll be enjoying.  A themed event at that and I am so excited.  So now, back to sales,,, I am going to stick to the sale racks and splurge every now again on quality goods.  I have to run, but soon I will return and share some picks and bargain finds.  ttyl.

Thoughts that feed my brain ^_*

Hello world.  I took a chance with my face today despite the news about the weather forecast.  Hey, my face withstood the wind gusts and hail like smacks.  As I sit here typing, I hear the winds blowing and rustling my gift wrapped front door.  [giggles]

A thought came time as always: LATE BLOOMERS.  Who says that late bloomers aren't any fun or that you can't teach an old dog new tricks?  Really?  Come on now.  I grew up learning about crocheting and I detested it, so much so - that I cried every time my mom [who I felt forced that blasted hook on me] asked me to crochet with her.  Arrgh. Dare I say, that now I pick up those blasted hooks and whip up some simple hats.  Oh yes, I do.  Okay, back to the point, I learned how to knit in 2005.  Self taught, then I forgot how to cast on and the instructions looked foreign.  That's when I met Sharon V.  Oh yeah, there was a flyer at my local library about knitting.  So I decided to bring my daughter so that Sharon V could teach her.  In the process, I gained a refresher course of casting on, and the basic stitches.  So I began later on in life and not as a teenager.  it has been 7 years now and I'm in love with my projects.
So now, I begin an adventure into the realm of cosmetics.  Oh yes an adventure indeed.  Makeup to me from back in the days, was something I played with.  As far as going out on a day to day basis, once in awhile, I utilized eyeliner.  I mainly focused on my hair and making sure that my clothes were kept neat and taking well care of.  Now here it is, the ending of 2012, thanks to my friend/co-worker Ty Ty, I have stepped in the realm of YouTube tutorials and cosmetology.  [Laughter]  Nitraa B, destinygodley, The Cambelles, iCRAiZ, Piinksparkles, and many other ladies ~~> they have grabbed my attention and given me the information needed to assist me with a clean finished look.
See, with one semester left in college, many functions to attend and the possibilities of up coming interviews, I need to step up my game.I don't want to wait to later.  I've lived the past 19 years if not more, with a basic face. Plain Jane, simple and not worried.  I felt that if a man is going to love me, then he needs to see the real me in all aspects.  Then time has passed by, I've attracted the wrong Doe-Doe heads and have come to the conclusion that I'm doing something wrong.  What you put out is what you get back.  I've watched myself disappear unnecessarily and making excuses.
Did you ever watch the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding?  Well I feel and have felt like Tulah [the main character]  That is up until recently.  Plus I'm learning so much more about products and how they work.  A word of advice, research your products and when you go to Sephora, ask for a sample. If I'm not mistaken, MAC offers a sample too. I will confirm that soon because I want to try the N2 sheer coverage.  WAIT, WAIT.... Hold the fort.  Not only do I attend The Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival in October....I have the audacity to want to attend the upcoming IMATS and Makeup Show too.  Oh Yeah, audacity is right.  I've gotten so many compliments on my eyebrows and how defined they appear.  Love It!   I've gotten noticed and even if I didn't, I put to use what I learned and I'm happy.
So with that being said, it is never too late to learn new things.  Honestly,
who knows what is going to happen in the New Year, but for now, I'm having fun.

Talk to everyone another day.  Happy Holidays!

Beauty anew

So I have to share what occurred on Monday [Christmas Eve].  I went to work as normal but with the exception of my face.  No, lol, I did not wear a mask or did something outrageous but indeed something different.  Clothing worn was the norm of which I own and had been recently washed.
[Laughter] I received appraisals, second glances.  The behavior of three males made my day.  Two of the three work on a different floor at my place of employment and they could not stop looking at me. And wait, they both are married too.  LOL ~~ Wow!!!    The third of all, my director stopped in his tracks and did a double take.  That was definitely a first.  He, a Puerto Rican as am I [although I am half Dominican], he said that I should look this way all the time.  Arrgh, Really????
His question is why don't I? My response is I don't like doing this all the time, his response ~~> Baga = Lazy.  Oh well, then I wear this title with pride.  I don't consider it laziness, I just like surprising everyone once in awhile.  If I were to do this on a daily basis, then there is nothing new except maybe a new color shadow.
What is one to do? Well, for me, it is to do it my way as always - with some exceptions of course.   I'm just saying, that this type of work does take time for preparation. I mean, you can't just up and knit a sweater that calls for cashmere and utilize a scrappy acrylic that would exfoliate your skin on contact. It takes time to adjust the pattern especially when substituting.  lmao, I couldn't help that one.  Yarns & patterns came to mind and I know it has nothing to do with makeup but I just had to share my thoughts with you lovely people.   [Still laughing]

Why is Jugee in my picture as I try to share my skin care regime        ~~~>

<~~Mild cleanser for face similar to Cetaphil, and Mary Kay moisturizer & sunscreen

Below left pic: Brow pencil with brush, compact with angled eye brush & brow powder/brow wax, and primer to define eyebrows.
Right pic: Battery operated eyelash color that heats up and helps with straightening out my curled lashes on my right lid, Andrea Mod lashes, Duo eyelash adhesive and Urban Decay double pointed pencil in colors Whiskey & Zero, and Qtips to wipe out eras.
Lower pic on right: Maybelline BB Cream, bronzer, blush,  & contouring brush as well as Baby Lips Balm from Maybelline.

The Finished Product ~~> A Show Stopper, well at least for the Day!

I'm up early and just buying my time.  Yes this morning is a cab day to the train station ~ Why? Well I've sold my 2nd shopping cart, I've got to bring to my coworker and really don't feel like dealing with the crowd on the bus. And yes everyone - the bus gets crowded between 5:45 - 8:30am.  Smh, Plus I need to step into Kmart and try on some slacks. {In dire need of new clothing}  With that being said, one day my daughter will understand that you've got to take care of all your clothing and just add pieces instead of bulk [not unless there is like a 90% of sale clearance---Yeah Right]
So I'm getting into the makeup thing.  Yesterday was a simple day and I tried a new lip color by MAC ~ Girl about town A92 of the Amplified line.  Oh yeah and my lips matched the Calvin Klein purses in the window display at Macy's 34 St.  Not to shabby either.  Eyes are lined with Urban Decay 24/7 in Zero and Benefit Mascara that makes your lashes appear longer.  LOVE THEM BOTH!!!  They withstood my long day till I came home and washed it with the blue stuff purchased at Sephora for sensitive eyes.  My eyes look irritated because I was sleepy.  Make Up For Ever is a makeup remover for sensitive eyes and even takes off your false strip lashes with ease.  No burning at all ~  KUDOS!  I wonder how it stands up to taking off hot glued lashes???  Have no clue because NOBODY is hot gluing any lashes to my eyes.  Negative!!! I love my falsies and the adhesive I use is by Duo.  Anyway, time to go... Until later my lovelies!

The YouTube Universe

Hello everyone.  Most recent I have been stuck on the YouTube channel, thanks to a co-worker/friend  Ty at my job.  She introduced me to divaslimsdown {documenting her weight loss journey} then there is nitraab.  She is perky and has shown me the how-to's for makeup.  Again these two ladies have led me to others and in fact, has given me the confidence to go ahead and start using makeup and putting on falsies. Yes, I have put on false eyelashes.  I can't tell you how many videos I've watched and continue to do so while discovering other people such as MakeupGeekTV.  LOL, I smile because I've gone to work twice with my falsies, and I went to my friends house for Thanksgiving.  I tell you, that it made a big difference on my self-esteem and overall feeling as a woman.  It wasn't much but just enough.
However I must say that I came across a Hater!  Yes, ladies a HATER. I don't know what I expected from her but she really did show her side in front of her other friends. Her reason is that I should know how she feels about natural beauty...  Umm, Hello, Wake the heck up Because first of all, I had no clue on your thoughts to natural beauty since you have acrylic covered nails which are not natural since they're painted as well as your feet.  Wait, you also get a wash and set weekly, so natural what???  Wait, she dyes her hair also.  I rest my case.  She is far from true natural beauty.  I tell you now that I made the worst mistake in trying to explain my point of view.  But like another friend stated ~ I owe her no explanation for my choices and actions.
Before clean Face with no lashes
After!  I felt great and ready to conquer the world and the confidence ~ Whew Amazing.  Nothing extravagant but this is what she didn't like.  Oh well.

Way Too Long!

Hello world.  It has been way too long that I haven't shared my thoughts. So many pics to upload likewise.  Arrgh.  for starters, my friend Sharon Vestal said I needed to post somethying since my blog has been collecting dust... Very, very ture.  But for now, I'm back and pics and smart a** remarks will follow because traveling via PT (Public Transportation) makes you wonder what the hell happened to courtesy & mannerisms. Hmmm  I love you * Besos*
